Introducing

Snails lake

Snails lake is a stunning, thirty acre gravel pit situated on the Cotswold water park in Gloucestershire, nestled between the villages of Cerney Wick and Latton.

The lake itself is feature packed, with several mature islands, reedbeds, weed beds and various sub-surface bars and plateau’s, meaning there is always something to find and fish to.

Typical of the majority of the pits on the water park, the water is rich, clear and weedy during the summer months, providing an abundance of natural food for the beautiful, dark, scaly carp that inhabit the lake.

In terms of the current stock in the lake, this is largely unknown to us at the moment, but we do know there is a ‘reasonable’ number of carp present with a good quantity of them being over 20lb and a handful over 30lb. From what we have seen, there is a very diverse mix of scaly mirrors, linears and sparsely scaled mirrors, plus some cracking looking commons too. Many of which look like they have barely, if ever, seen a hook!
