Baston Reedy
Lake
As the name suggests, this 6.8 acre lake is almost entirely lined by tall Norfolk reeds, giving it a very intimate feel.
It has only 6 swims which are nicely split up by two small islands, and are also lined with reeds. This means everyone has their own water; a rare commodity, especially considering the stock.
Like its neighbour; the Big Lake, it received some of the finest big’uns money could buy from a small syndicate in Oxford called Cottisford. These, along with some hand-picked Priory Fisheries twenties, were fed for a year before the syndicate opened. They grew so well that low 30’s became good 40’s before a line had even been cast! It currently contains 8-9 x 40’s with numerous back up 30’s, giving it a higher density of big fish than its wilder looking neighbour.
The winter of 2022 saw a further 20 fish introduced from the neighbouring Shallow Pit and Serpentine, meaning the total stock is now around 90 fish, so you should never be too far from a fish or two! Spots can be very localised, as you can imagine on a smaller water and those with keen attention to detail and a stealthy approach will love it here.
Like the Big Lake, it has a low number of hand-picked members who have many years of angling under their belts. The fishing is taken seriously but the camaraderie between members is superb making it a truly unique ticket to have.
