Oxford Nr Stanton Harcourt Oxford
Arguably the flagship of the Embryo portfolio is the lake at Stanton Harcourt, which was originally run by Vauxhall Angling. Since taking over the site there have been many improvements and there are still more to come. The lake was fenced in September 2016 to ensure the future for this amazing fishery.
The venue is 11 acres and is an old clear gravel pit, which has approximately 60-65 original fish from the previous stockings. These are made up of some stunning looking scaly fish, classic Oxfordshire strains which go to upper 30’s, with a few commons among them. There are also a couple of catfish in the lake which go to 40lbs, once hooked you’ll know just how hard fighting these cats are.!!
Around the site there are 11 swims, all old style secluded and left alone for the angler to enjoy nature & the surroundings. The lake varies in depths from the shallows to massively deeper areas in the main body of the lake. It also contains many bars, gullies and plateau for the angler to find and is a great place to stalk carp from the edges.
There is a Midweek & Weekend Syndicate in operation both of which have 25 members. The lake has a brilliant social scene, and you’ll never be short of people to make tea for… Just don’t forget the biscuits!
Membership is currently full for 2017/18 Season and there is a Waiting list in operation (please see below to download the list).
Unfortunately there are no spaces available on the waiting list currently, these will be reopening in 2018.
